Having began his professional career as an attorney in California, litigating business and real estate disputes, Diego distinguishes himself by going beyond traditional portfolio construction and management to implement tax-efficient strategies, guiding clients on several aspects of their financial lives.
He specializes in serving executives at startup companies going through an IPO or private placement, creating tax-efficient strategies for their concentrated stock positions. He also helps attorneys, physicians, consultants and business owners with high earnings set up private pension plans.
Diego joined the Handler Investment Consulting Group of Raymond James in 2021. Before that, he served as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Diego earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Irvine, a Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School and an MBA from Claremont Graduate University.
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Diego now lives in Los Angeles with his English bulldog, Bindi. He is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and in his free time enjoys hiking, dining out, cooking, traveling and being active in foster care nonprofit organizations in the greater Los Angeles area.
